Trolling Nextdoor in a red county is a lot of fun.

LOL I thought OP was just calling their location a dump bc they’re having a charlie memorial. Nope, turns it it’s literally at the landfill. Now I can’t tell if this is a joke or not.

      Don’t troll globally, troll locally.

Trolling shit on Twitter, etc is pretty pointless, you’re just posting to other internet warriors… Pissing in an ocean of piss.

But when you troll on Nextdoor (or apps like it)… it’s like “BoomerWorld”. Still bigoted and ignorant, but also not jaded from the internet at large. So they eat up shit, they just don’t expect people will go on there and tell lies (they really do that). You don’t get as many “views”, but the ones you do are just so much sweeter. It’s like you’re touching real lives… it’s heartwarming.

I believe in grassroots trolling. o7

I will always support creators of handcrafted, artisanal shitposting. Thank you for your work. Keep them on their toes.

All I did on my NextDoor was post the quote from Kirk about being ok with gun deaths if it means 2a in response to someone asking for tots and prairies. The utter stupidity of what was said baffled me. I was called sleazy by one person, and a blue haired limp wristed boy from another (I almost asked if he meant to use the f slur but held my toungue). Only for using his own quote…

oh yeah? they got mad? because you used their own words? yup… that’ll do it.

Those words are meant for other people, not them.

The man simply didn’t understand the word at all. Empathy is our capacity to understand the minds of others. It does not convey approval or agreement, simply understanding. Psychopaths have empathy; it’s how they’re good at manipulating others. You have to understand someone to manipulate them effectively. All humans possess some degree of empathy, as do most animals.

There is an affective (emotional) component to empathy that effectively causes your mind to conjure the same emotion you perceive another person (or animal) to be feeling. This is why you cry when watching an emotional scene in films sometimes. Psychopaths do not have this component, which is why they seem emotionally cold to people sometimes. Psychopaths have to fake this in order to blend into society, and they learn to do so over the course of their lives.

Charlie Kirk simply didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about in this instance, and Elon Musk doesn’t either. As someone on the autism spectrum, I’m not surprised Musk has some difficulty with the concept (no disrespect to autistic people, btw, just stating facts).

He understood empathy. They all do.

They understand since they were kids, it’s started being taught in schools to have empathy for others not as fortunate as you. They understand young kids strive to get the Empathy award in Kindergarten.

Can’t have “certain” kids (theirs) growing up that way.

I knew one girl with Narcissistic Personality Disorder who realized she didn’t have empathy (her words) and specifically stated that she thought developing it would be detrimental. She thought lacking empathy gave her an advantage, straight up. This is actually common among pathological people like that.

Then she too wasn’t using the word correctly. She may have meant the affective portion of it, which she probably didn’t have.

IMO he and others like him are attacking the word empathy because they think how it is being taught will make boys act weak, along with all they believe that leads to.

This is a guy who focused on conservative values in schools and used the word “woke”.

There’s nothing in the context of this quote or Elon Musk’s that suggests they’re talking about empathy being taught in schools and it making boys weak. In both cases it’s more a response to Democrats using the word a lot in their political speech to try to bring coalitions of people together.

That term isn’t really used anymore due to the stigma attached to it. Anti-social personality disorder is the term. It’s also clinically different from NPD.

In a way, I’m glad you mentioned it.

In another way, it’s really sad that the state of affairs on Lemmy is such that anyone would feel the need to have to explicitly state that as though the headline / title wasn’t clear enough. Like I know it’s an international Fediverse and not everyone is fully fluent in English, but on the other hand, some people do legitimately have reading comprehension issues and a desire to dump some rage on random folks on the internet.

I just hope someone shows up.

I mean, I’ll never know for sure, but in my mind’s eye I can just imagine it. Some Oxy-Pillbilly just punching the address into maps, showing up in his maga regalia… maybe all alone, maybe with others. A slow thought, approaching realization, moving across their minds…
