Since Good got shot i saw a lot of call to protest and also a lot of call to violence. First while she definetly didnt deserve to die, she was in the wrong for goign after ice operators and bloking them. I dont see any universe where the justice system doesnt take that in count and doesnt find ground for justifying the actions of the ice operative. Taking that into account what are you hopping to accomplish with protest ( or with violence ) While you have different polls that will say majority of ppl disagree with ice actions you have to take into account that the majority still agree that undocumented immigrant should be deported. So now what s gonna heppen ? What do u think you can obtain by mobilysing ?
Unity. Looking across at others that are standing, which generates more belief.
Sure, more than just protest has to happen but it has a positive effect.
Do u feel that the majority of ppl will unite on your side of the issue ? Im not really sure, and i think support gonna drop when justice gonna hope in the case.
Do u feel…
I’m not American, so I can’t truly answer but having attended protests before, it will at least give those that do attend some unity and hope.
I don’t know. I hope so.
fair assesement. I just think the suppport on that issue is overblown online cause ppl share some sentiment regarding the issue but arent concern by the direct ramification of it. I mean i dont have any disadvantage to support more immigration in a country i dont live.
What are you hoping* to accomplish with protest (or with violence)?
The removal, overthrow, resignation, or death of the current occupying fascist government.
The reinstatement of the rule of law, not the oppression of fear.
Significant and binding changes to our system of government, in order to prevent human pieces of shit from hijacking the levers of power ever again.
That’d be a good start.
yeah so im gonna say that s i hear everything you say but there is a big overlap with what january 6 protester claim. I dont think thoses are realistics goals specially after loosing the majority vote and that immigration policy was such a big part in the campaign. Do you feel your position reflect the majority of us citizens ?
I do, wholeheartedly.
The fascists in this country are a vast minority. They’re good at being louder than everyone else, and they’ve weaselled their way, through shady business deals, intimidation, and exploitation of loopholes in the system, into more and more power, but the moment people actually rise against them they’re finished, and they know it.
but how them being a minority explain why they won the popular vote ? like i said in the post majority of ppl support deporting undocumented immigrant. It litteraly happened in the state where fraud in favor of immmigrant was the big subject last week.
I don’t give a shit about the popular vote. At all.
The Dems shouldn’t have run Kamala, they should have addressed Israel / Gaza, etc, etc, etc.
If you’re not taking into account the people who voted for Trump in protest or the many, many more who didn’t vote at all, you don’t get a picture of the fascists winning because people agree with them more, but because the political system in this country was broke as fuck and people had no faith in it.
If you keep solely arguing from Republican talking points, we’re done here. I don’t have the time or energy to explain every detail of the last year to you.
The Dems shouldn’t have run Kamala, they should have addressed Israel / Gaza, etc, etc, etc.
Kamela adress it. By saying you should vote for trump if you wanted free palestine. That was quite something.
winning because people agree with them more
well that s sure that ppl disagree more with democrat rather than republicain at least on that election. I understand that you feel democrat loose cause they were bad. But even so, like i said majority of ppl support the deportation of illegal immigrants. In your opinion how much % support your side on that issue ?
The share wanting immigration reduced dropping from 55% in 2024 to 30% today. At the same time, a record-high 79% of U.S. adults say immigration is a good thing for the country.
Use up to date numbers if you want to use them.
People were negative on immigration in the 2024 election because they believed the violently hateful rhetoric about it that was being pushed to them by Russian disinformation, complicit media, and lying populist mouthpieces like Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, and Charlie Kirk.
I dint make any argument regarding legal immigration. All i said was regarding illegal and undocumented immigration wich isnt the same.
You have bad conequence for not checking who come into your country. You dont need shapiro or russian dissinformation to realize that
Nothing. Because the people in charge of ICE don’t care. They consider left wing protests a sign that they are doing the right thing.
