If there was ever a man so power hungry and cruel that was in the executive, it was him. He influenced McCarthy, who influenced Roy Cohn, who helped Trump in his earlier years.
But the root of all of it is slavery. Free labor. Free labor creates something that is unsustainable in capitalism - infinite profit.
Americans are better taught about the fascists of world war 2 than any of the negative parts of US history. So if that’s what they need to use so now people understand that’s fine.
Could be a good bridge to educate people about America’s blighted history though

Capitalism itself is unsustainable, and if not heavily regulated will always recreate slavery on its way to collapse.
