Ya know, I don’t keep up with the rap world. The only “diddy” songs I know are a song from the 1998 Godzilla soundtrack, which uses a Led Zepplin sampled song as the basis for the song, and a collaboration with Lincoln Park where he uses a their entire song, with him replacing their lyrics with his own in which he calls all women bitches.

So my view of him from my vantage point is that he’s unoriginal, and needs other peoples work to survive.

I know even less about 50 cent’s music. I don’t know a single song. I just know he got famous around 2007 for getting shot 7 times. But any idiot can get shot. Just ask Brett.

That being said, outside of music I know diddy used to host parties in which he needed 10,000 bottles of baby oil.

50 cent on the other hand I’ve been told got the creeps from diddy, and that led to some confrontation, which left 50 cent with a grudge. Then he said he felt happy taking diddy down, and was happy there were no more parties.

So even though I will probably never listen to a single one of his songs, and even though I can’t imagine how or why I’d ever spend money on 50 cent, I can still say I at least respect the fact that he saw diddy as a creep who needed to be taken down. I can respect that. Even if the music isn’t for me.

I’m a huge rap fan and this is 100% correct.

Although, not for the reasons you listed. Having a huge hit that leans heavily on an obvious sample of an older hit song isn’t necessarily awful. But the guy writes corny shit, is a terrible rapper and is just not very talented. He built an empire off of surrounding himself with amazingly talented people and exploiting them in the worst possible ways.

I’ve never listened to any of Diddy’s music. All I know is everything that’s been revealed. Another important fact is that he paid to have Tupac killed for a million dollars. Funnily enough, he didn’t pay that guy either. Also got Biggie killed. He’s a piece of shit.

The only thing I know about all this nonsense is that on occasion you may find me in certain establishments, with a glass of champaign.

It’s not often, but it does happen.

In hiphop a beatmaker is typically separate from the rapper. And outside hiphop, music writers and lyricists are often different people, plus covers exist (including those changing the lyrics). So him using others’ music is the least problematic thing about him.

‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ is considered a classic, but its entire music track and the vocal melody of the chorus are lifted from Stewie Wonder’s ‘Pastime Paradise’.

Diddy invited him to come shopping and then tried to pay for everything and didn’t let 50 pay for anything. 50 recognized that Diddy was trying to trap him with favors and using social graces as a way to take advantage of 50.

It’s like a meta-analysis of politeness in society by two people who are excellent at reading others.

Unless I missed something that collaboration is jay z and Lincoln park. I assume it’s points of authority/99 problems?

The only other things I can find are that, allegedly, Linkin Park sampled a Biggie song (Until it Breaks, allegedly sampled “Who Shot Ya”, but when I listen to them I don’t hear it. Maybe it’s actually just a lyrical reference not a true sample?)

Also Chester’s son Jaime Bennington has gone off on a lot of rants against Shinoda and other LP members and seems real salty about the band continuing now. He accused Shinoda and other members of Machine. shop records of attending two Diddy parties in 2004 and 2010. And one time Diddy tweeted out that he liked LP and they re-tweeted it. So… Everything seems pretty innocuous to me.

Also 50 cent has a couple alright games. They aren’t great but honestly for a celebrity game they’re only outclassed by the Riddic games.
