You know, I just realized how dumb it is that I grew up on TNG and yet have never written a bald dude into my sci-fi.
I need to stop sucking and do that.

What I wonder is how that subreddit would respond if someone with good hair, or even just decent hair posted. Do they ever respond “no bro, you have good hair!” I would bet that it becomes a “when you have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail” type situation.
Surely it’s happened. A lot of dudes with perfectly good hair are anxious about balding.
While I’m sure despite the wholesome community image, some people reacting with envy is understandable. But that’s on them not you. Everyone is in charge of their own feelings. Regulating them and reconciling them with your free will and actions you take… That’s life!

Started losing mine in college with a big widow’s peak. I tried to avoid it by going Mohawk for a year or two before it connected leaving me with essentially a crazy clown tuft. But the bullet around 25 and haven’t looked back. It’s nice in hot weather though.

I’m thinking the other way: if it ever happens to me, I’ll just embrace the baldness. But I imagine it’s a lot easier to say that now than it would be at the time.
As someone who did just that, it’s all about perspective: balding is a condition; bald is a choice.
I’ve had long hair like a sindardin elf my entire life. This would be traumatic af to me. I’ll just pay to win. Lol
