Possums eat spiders. So there’s that.
They’re also very resistant to rabies so that’s a plus they ever bite someone.

That’s just most of North America.
No possums in my area, never seen one any where near. We have raccoons in small numbers. And skunk in small numbers too. Maybe swap for squirrels and you would be closer to the US.
Beavers are more widespread than any squirrel species and gets us the water type.
It depends on what party of the country you’re in, really. I’ve got all 3 where I’m at.

Raccoon for sure. Sure possums are cute, but raccoons are smart and adorable and mischievous

A friend of mine actually has a skunk as a pet.
