Meta and CEO Mark Zuckerberg have been sued by five publishers and author Scott Turow, who allege the tech company illegally copied millions of books, articles and other works to train Meta's AI systems.
Them = publishers? Yes, because publishers and the authors who supply them are the ones owning copyrights. Who else but owners would care about copyrights (literally the rights to copy). It does look to me like AI developers infringed on tons of copyrights but that will be for the court to look at and decide.
