“Other people are stupid” is a flattering explanation to the incurious mind.
Not really, one of my little brothers has a learning disability, and the other isn’t that far behind. Most of my family (including my mother), aren’t that intelligent, and literally can’t reason a lot of stuff. It isn’t that they just aren’t intellectually curious. They literally couldn’t even if they wanted too.
Explained a lot for me when I left my tiny little hometown and realized I just didn’t fit in with the rednecks there.
Smart people know that “I don’t understand” is much more likely than “they don’t make sense”.
