Same! I want to be able to find things in the dark or an emergency without having to think about it. I don’t care if other people in my group want to bring everything they own with them as long as they take responsibility for carrying it. I won’t carry other people’s gear without a damn good reason. Oh, I agree with you. I have my check list of gear, have where it goes in the pack mapped out, and I know the weight to the gram.
I’m usually the one taking on gear for those who tried to pack the kitchen sink.
