Despite having voted more with Trump’s agenda than any other South Carolina Republican, Norman could not compete with the idea that Lindsey Graham’s sister somehow deserved the president’s endorsement more. Don’t think her potential rubber stamp for the military didn’t have a lot to do with that.
Trump told reporters at the Graham rally four days ago that “she’s going to do what the military wants, and really what the president wants.”
What the “military wants”? What the “president wants”? Is that the role of a U.S. Senator representing South Carolina?

Honestly, it’s pretty fucking hard to not judge SC for constantly fucking voting for Graham before he kicked it. And if they elect his sister (as pragmatic of a prediction as it is), it’s not going to improve my opinion of the average person in the state (specifically because senators are elected by popular vote in a given state).
South Carolina is a shithole government handout state drowning in conservatism and dysfunctional austerity politics.

Truthfully South Carolina is #5 because Alaska is a massive frontier and it is rational it receives so much federal funding.

But will the nepotism crony candidate win the election against the Democrats, or would someone chosen on merit have had a better chance?
