Some otherwise vegan sweets are coated in super thin bee’s wax, so they don’t stick together. Many don’t mind, especially if the alternative is wrapping them in plastic.
This wouldn’t get the vegan packaging label in Germany. As well as products with ingredients derived from lac insects (shellac), scarlet scale insects (carmine), lately mealworms/crickets in salty snacks, pasta and bread.
