In many of those cases it would be better to improve adoption of one of the existing standards though. When the EU decided all mobile devices should be chargeable with micro-usb it was known that was not the best port ever. But having everything use the same charger was great and it made it easier to force everyone to update new devices to usb-c.
Annex Part I -
2. In so far as they are capable of being recharged by means of wired charging, the categories or classes of radio equipment
referred to in point 1 of this Part shall:
2.1. be equipped with the USB Type-C receptacle, as described in the standard EN IEC 62680-1-3:2021
