Usually I only swap them a single time because the next time around I’m probably going to be wanting upgraded hardware. Fairphone is cool and all but I prefer a higher ip rating inherent to iPhones in comparison.
Accidentally drop your fairphone into a pool and the modular construction aspect seems less relevant.

I replaced the camera module on my iPhone13 when the flash Led broke because of a shitty lens cover.
In both instances I watched a YouTube video and did it, it’s not that hard.
The text statement is kind of true several years ago, it sucked having Android users in group chats because iPhone text features make it easy to share images and video with other iPhones. Text protocols changed years ago between IOS and Android and it is a non issue.
I used android for years, I had the OG Droid. There is nothing wrong with other smart phone brands but there is very little differentiating top phones anymore.
