I’ve been using them for a while and am fairly happy with them. I like that they keep my ears open, and after wearing them for a bit I hardly notice they’re there.
There’s enough of a gap between the rear “drum” and the front piece that it doesn’t uncomfortably pinch the cartilage of my ear, even during extended sessions.
I know Bose and JBL have their own versions too, there’s probably other brands out there.

Not to say you have to run out and try them, but just so you know there be options.

they look heavy on the ear, aren’t they.

i cant stand anything in my ear, my mind rejects any kind of plug in that area, so i am curious how they feel as they look heavy.

I am forced to use the full ear headphones from sony and it gets sweaty even while i am setting doing normal work.

been searching for something super lightweight and ergonomically part of human shaped ears which i can also put while in bed.

          Lol please help me

Personally I don’t think they’re too heavy, but ymmv. Nothing goes in the ear canal so that stays clear.

You can also get over ear “hooks”: https://shokz.com/pages/openfit2
Those may be even heavier, but they sit on top of your ear rather than hanging off them.

I’ve never liked wearing earphones in bed as I want to turn on my side, I’ve never found any to be comfortable in that position.

Also Shokz is definitely not the only brand which sells these kinds, just the one I’m familiar with.

Sorry for joining in, but can you comment on “noise leakage”, i.e. is the sound intended for you escaping to the outside and perceptable to others?

I find it difficult to say. I’ve gotten no such complaints, but I don’t generally use these on, say, the couch next to others.

I wouldn’t think they’re much more noisy then the “non-plug” style of earbuds of yesteryear.

I always found that the cheap ones of the right side variety sounded way better than the cheap ones of the left side variety, but neither type tends to stay in my ear well enough, they all fall out so I’m the idiot who takes over-ear headphones to the gym.

Yee. The music being injected directly into the ear canal does make it easier for it to sound better. Just that the noise leakage of these is more on par with the ones on the left.

I do think the clip ones I have sound fairly well, but it does take a step from plugs.

Maybe my tone was a bit negative, I definitely appreciate you posting this! Good to know about alternatives, I’ll keep them in mind if I am looking for new earbuds. For now I went back to wired oldschool earbuds and over ear headphones. Still using the beans though every now and then, just their battery life is slowly getting worse.

            Wired is also valid.

I guess what pushes wireless over the edge for me is the convenience of having a little puck in my pocket which cannot get tangled up.

I don’t think your tone was particularly negative, I think I could’ve done a better job at the tone of my earlier reply as well. I appreciate you clarifying, 'sall good.
