Nah, she’s a bitch. You’re free not to use that word, I’m free to use it, c’est la vie. Unless you’d have preferred I call her a cunt, because I’d be happy to oblige.
That’s fair. The way I see it, dick, bitch, cunt, asshole, cock etc all mean the same thing. You’re effectively calling someone a jerk. Getting nitpicky over which is ok - and which isn’t - is a waste of energy in my book. Just because somebody else uses the word more virulently doesn’t somehow mean everyone who calls someone a bitch is evil. Part of language is intent and context. If I called a woman a bitch because she was intense or intimidating, that’d be out of line. If I call someone a bitch because they write stupid shit like this and run an account like that, I feel like I’m doing alright.
You raise valid points, and context definitely matters, but I think when it comes to language it should be decided by the consensus within the minority it was originally used to describe.
For example, most of the disabled community agrees “r-tard” is offensive these days, so it’s use has gone down. Just like “gay” before it. And white folks still argue the n-word should be fine for everyone to use if they end it with an a.
I’m not saying minorities can’t reclaim words, and language definitely changes with time. But most women I interact with get uncomfortable when men around them say “bitch” routinely.
Words exist in context. If I called my female boss a bitch because I perceived her as domineering or demanding, that’d be out of line. If I call someone a dumb bitch for running one of the most toxic accounts on social media posting nonsensical disinformation, that’s very different. While I understand that being called a bitch can be very hurtful, I’m not calling you one, I’m calling someone else one, so being offended on their behalf is silly. I’m not gonna censor myself because someone might have a negative association with a word. And before someone says “I’ve heard the same logic applied to the n word” cool well I’m not applying it to the n word, I already don’t say that so I don’t need to censor myself.
If you’re really gonna try and act like bitch and the n word exist on the same plane of cruelty and offensiveness you’re just being flatly disingenuous.
Many people refuse to acknowledge the nuance of language development. Especially when mixed with what is socially acceptable. Because that’d mean conceding they could be hurting people.
I’ll join you in the downvotes. You may be oversimplifying a bit too, but I see where you’re coming from.
No need to call her a bitch ^^
Eh. Loomer has been advocating for mass deportation of Muslims for her entire career.
The shoe fits.

Anyone can be a cunt. I actually would prefer that. A cunts a cunt, everyone knows one.
Bitch is what some knuckedragger yells at a woman when she rejects him again
I call men bitches daily.

Etymologically speaking bitch refers only to women, but in modern usage the pejorative is used for both genders
It’s pejorative for men because it implies you are a woman, you fuckwit
What’s next, are you going to say “pussy” is unacceptable for the same reason!?!?
jk I know you and wezzzy are right.
Not the women who aren’t bitches, since it’s not directed at them.
I’ve seen people use that exact justification for the n-word.
If you’re really gonna try and act like bitch and the n word exist on the same plane of cruelty and offensiveness you’re just being flatly disingenuous.
Cool, good thing I’m not then.
