By now I’m so jaded with modern video games that I expect it to be a barely functional release and fall into the same old pattern of over-promise and under-deliver. People who think it will be as good as GTA 5 after more than 12 years of updates are deluding themselves. I stopped playing GTA 5 online when they introduced microtransactions, the instant you could buy money in the game with real money, I dropped it harder than Donald Trump was dropped on the head as a baby.

    Edit: typo.

It will be as “good” as GTA 5 and RDR2. Completely linear entertainment with pretty graphics designed for the widest possible audience. I expect the same slow progression as 5, where you unlock clothing stores after completing like 25% of the game. I also expect a kernel level anticheat and an online mode that does everything they seem to criticize in GTA 5’s plot. Oh, and remove any remaining non-linearity, god forbid the player veers off by a centimeter from the scripted route.

In GTA1, this is the button you would press to get in/hijack a car. You could also press and hold down one of the arrow keys to do the “spin around” maneuver, whereby you would quicker get into the car. It was a sort of “hack”.

Oh noo… Then all these time in GTA 5, we’ve been driving convertibles then…? Who would have thought… 💭

    Barrio Logan in San Diego!
Those are the legs of the Coronado Bridge.

EDIT: If that’s not San Diego - and I’m starting to think it isn’t - it’s giving me a weird disorientating feeling, like uncanny valley.
