I’m actually surprised he even gives a shit. I assumed he would just go on forever, ignoring facts and proclaiming everyone who contradicts him to be a radical left antifa terrorist.

Then they pick a lane. Either use their authority to actually do the work…or give it up, so they can talk about it. My opinion is, they should do the work.

It’s the leather pants.

Oh, she definitely pegged him. 100%. I don’t know about the trans part, but the butt stuff is a guarantee. You can totally tell.

Remember when she hated Trump, and briefly tried to become “liberal”, only to realize that no one liked her, so she slithered back over to the MAGA crowd for forgiveness?
Yeah. Good times.

I watched the entire J6 “rally” in real time. The message was coded, but clear. That mob was doing exactly what the people on stage wanted it to do.
If anything, you’d have to edit their speeches in order to not show that they were urging that crowd to fight.

I disagree. His decisions in court are far more important than his opinions outside of it. There are plenty of advocacy groups out there. Adding more voices to that side of the bench doesn’t matter if all the judges left, are compromised.
If every judge with a solid ethical foundation resigns, so they can “speak out”…there won’t be any left to “hear” the cases that are challenging the administration’s crimes.

They’ve already tanked their own case, by not saying anything about any of the Republican states that are currently doing the same thing. This is selective prosecution.

But, they supposedly couldn’t find a reason to actually prosecute this fucker? Give me a break.

There is a kernel of truth to this. After the cold war ended, it really did feel like the world was finally at peace, for a little while. There were still conflicts and wars going on, but they seemed manageable by comparison.

Convicted of fraud…now glorified by other fraudsters.

Fucking coward. Stay at your post and defend the fucking Constitution. Even if every one of your rulings gets overturned by the corrupt Supreme Court, at least there will be an enduring public record of your objection to Trump’s illegal activity.
Quitting just means fewer voices speaking out against his overreach. Eventually they will be drowned out by his loyalists, and there will be no more objections.

Yeah. Honestly, expecting states to “claw back” money that has already been issued, is fucking stupid. That just adds insult to injury, and cost on top of cost. It’s all cruelty and waste.

It’s a bit difficult to take you seriously when you argue that Garcia returned to the United States as an example that Trump lost—but Garcia is Again in custody… So that really is not a win. And despite him having “wins” in court, he’s still in custody… Which is not a win.
I’m feeling the same way about you, when you don’t seem to get how hard they are trying to deport this guy…and yet, they aren’t just doing it, like you seem to think they can. It illustrates perfectly, how they don’t have unilateral control.
My point isn’t about wins or losses, exactly…only that the courts still matter. Nothing is “win” or a “loss” as long as the case is still ongoing…but the fact that they can’t just do whatever they want, is incredibly important.
It means they can’t just declare martial law and expect to get away with it.

Garcia is in ice custody again regardless of him coming back from El Salvador
He’s still winning in court, which is keeping him from being deported again.
Regarding Portland, when he wants to put the national guard in Portland… He will. Nothing will stop him, and I think you actually know that.
He can’t. The National Guard know that following that order would be illegal. Regular enlisted can’t refuse an order like that…but high-ranking officers have an obligation to.
He is going to declare martial law… Probably within 6 to 9 months… And then he will be able to do everything he wants and no one can stop him
That would be the only thing that would work…but that depends on what we do. Without a justification for declaring martial law, those same high-ranking military leaders will arrest him, before following those orders. This isn’t politics to them. They don’t have that kind of allegiance. Anyone who’s actually served in the military will tell you…the higher up the chain of command you go, the more seriously they take their responsibilities.
Regardless of the individual losses he seems to suffer in court, he often just goes ahead and does it anyway or… Finds another way. If that were not the case, we would not be in a free fall into fascism, which is plainly obvious
Except we aren’t. One of Trump’s biggest advantages, is his ability to convince people that he can do whatever he wants. It makes everyone around him behave as if he can. Some let him. Others don’t. Fascism is here, that’s true. But it doesn’t have control yet. We have to give him that control. He can’t just take what isn’t given to him. That’s what the courts still represent. He still needs to convince people that he has the authority to do things, or that authority is illegitimate.
That’s what will prevent the military from following his orders. He knows that. As much as he likes to act like he owns the whole show already…without legitimate authority, they will only follow him so far.

That is a fair point. I apologize to 12 year olds everywhere. That was an unkind comparison.

Abrego Garcia is probably the most high profile example of someone who has been returned from deportation and has been successful in fighting back against Trump’s efforts. They’re still fighting it on appeals, but it doesn’t seem likely that they’re going to win. Mahmoud Khalil is another.
In general, it is looking more and more likely that Trump’s entire immigration strategy of using the Alien Enemies Act is inevitably going to get struck down altogether, but that’s most likely going to go to the Supreme Court for a final ruling.
Recently a federal judge has permanently blocked Trump from sending the National Guard to Portland.
Almost all of Trump’s funding cuts have been overruled, due to him trying to supersede Congress’s authority over budget allocations.
There are hard lines that the Constitution is very clear about, and others that are more vague. Where the law is clear, Trump is getting stopped cold. Where it is less clear, all the cases are still ongoing, but have either been slowed down or straight up blocked pending appeal.
I know that it seems overwhelming, but so far Trump is losing the majority of the lawsuits against him. Where he is winning, is on smaller technicalities, or areas where they already had the right to do certain things, and therefore aren’t breaking any laws. But wherever the law is getting broken, the courts are working. The problem is that the media coverage is so scattered, that you hear more about the scary shit that he’s threatening to do, than you do about the final outcomes.

You know that the courts have successfully blocked almost all of the stupid shit he’s been trying to do, right? That even the stuff he’s been able to get away with, only lasts long enough to get to the next stage, before it gets blocked there too?
The system is actually working, for the most part. The media just doesn’t cover the boring details, after the fact. They only cover the “shocker” moments, where he “might” get away with something. Every time it gets shut down, they mention it only as a footnote and move on to the next big “shocker” moment.
Don’t be fooled by the clickbait. There is still a lot of hope left.
It was truly bizarre, the way the media spun his court cases too. If you compare the transcripts of what happened inside the court room, to the coverage…it’s all completely backwards. But, of course, people only listened to the media’s version, so…
