Previous Dems had lost by double digits, but Beto got within a couple of percentage points. It seems onvious that gun statement made the difference.

The Conservative Propaganda Machine has been able to control the political messaging in this country for decades, and some of their messages have become standard belief, like the concept that everything the government does is ALWAYS incompetent and wasteful, and that simply isn’t true. MOST of what the government does is very effective.

The government is an enormous bureaucracy, and if you root around enough, you’ll find issues, but overall, it does a pretty amazing job, when responsible people are managing it.

We need to challenge these standard beliefs that have become dogma, like Dem are bad for the economy (when ALL studies prove that it’s MAGA), Socialism is terrible (when many of the best things in America are Socialist, and it still offers better outcomes than whatever we are doing now), etc., and start moving in the direction that we have been so carefully directed away from.

Yeah, that used to work, until they learned to say “We’ll just take it from the billionaires,” and everyone said “Okay, that’s perfectly acceptable.”

Now all they can do is scream “SOCIALISM!” and people are starting to think THAT sounds pretty good, too.

They’re losing their rhetorical weapons quickly, and that arsenal was pretty low to begin with.

When I was young, I managed a tire shop for a time, and I heard that phrase from the service department, unironically, every day.

The front fell off. That’s not supposed to happen.

Beto was doing great, right up until he went on a big Texas radio show and announced intended to take away their guns. You could almost hear the air hissing out of the balloon.

He lost by a tiny margin. I strongly believe that dumb statement cost him the seat. If he had taken Cruz’s seat, and Talarico took Cornyn’s seat, we’d have two Dem senators from Texas.

But Beto couldn’t keep his mouth shut about guns in Texas.

The talking about all the strong, beautiful men around him, the obsession with watching mostly naked muscular men wrestling with each other…

Soon it will be trillions, and within a decade, quadrillions.

Along the way, there will be alliances, private armies, conquering territory, enslavement, environmental disaster, millions of deaths, etc.

It is inevitable.

Nothing pisses me off more than some religious moron expecting me to live by their dumb rules, for my own good. They know what’s best for me, because obviously I can’t make the proper choices, and allow Jesus, or God, or whatever mythical creature their particular cult worships, to control my life, and participate in ritual cannibalism. But I’M the weirdo.

Religion makes as much sense as the Tooth Fairy, or Santa Claus, and I honestly think that MOST religious people, deep down, don’t really believe all that nonsense. And that’s what’s scares them, and turns them into proselytizing fanatics. They want to believe, and they are trying to convince themselves as much as everybody else.

We have to think in terms of bloodlines. The subsequent generations are often worse than the original shithead.

That big one in the middle? Hit that one first.

Independent Media on YouTube, Substack, etc. is growing, but you have to curate carefully, and keep your Critical Thinking Skills on high alert at all times. They spew out lot of propaganda, too. Nothing like the Conservative Propaganda Machine, but they’re working on it.

That’s for audio, not video, but it does bring up a point - do these glasses record audio? Because that could be a legal defense in a two party consent state. It would essentially make it illegal in two party states. It also depends on whether audio in public is protected at all, the way video is.
