That’s wild and I’m really glad your buddy didn’t lose his real fork!
“Must be used under adult supervision”
Classic disclaimer
I bet there’s some good threads in RV cars forums for stuff like this.
I didn’t even consider belt driven.
For a use case like this it would be a good use case to do 3D printed casting.
3D print the part. Mold out of silicon. Then make the final part in resin.
Or just buy the real part.
There’s also ways to make plastic parts via injection at home.
I feel like a video of this in action would be classic 2000s internet.
Beyond the title. The list of responsibilities needs to match the salary.
The number of companies that mix and match responsibilities from different skillsets and expect below market rates is mind boggling.
I started applying to jobs outside my skillset. If I matched 40% of the requirements and tailored my resume to the posting I got better matches.
Landed a step down remote gig. Never stopped job hunting. Found a solid step up 6 months later. Jumped ship. I still kept shopping for a new gig. Stayed because they promoted me 3 times in a years.
At will employment. That means they can drop you when they want but you can also leave when you want.
When I was hunting for a job after being furloughed a year into COVID I was getting lots of callbacks for interviews.
After doing a few interviews and waiting until the job offer for compensation I got sick of all the clearly delusional people expecting a sysadmin to work for tier 1 support pay.
I switched gears. First question I asked to each callback was the salary range. I wasn’t going to waste my time.
It saved me loads of time on bullshit positions and the “wear all these hats” postings with skewed pay.
I accidentally laughed and then apologized to one poor recruiter when she told me it was $15/hr.
I ended up at a place about $10k/year less than my last job but it was 80% work from home instead of 100% on site.
Plot twist.
They’re both just unisex single bathrooms

2·20 days agoYeah I gave up on radio customization when I got a car that didn’t have a dual bin and didn’t keep up. Looking at newer cars and barely anything can be swapped/upgraded it seems.

8·20 days agoYeah this is the kind of shit I was looking forward to when I got into driving in the 2000s. But then car manufacturers started doing thier own non standard radios.
Then the car mod communities made kits to for a dual bay fit.
Then the corpos made radios required to service the car…
No regulations to protect the consumers let them do what they want.
The car part of the car should be completely independent of the entertainment part of the car. Fuckers.
The line can get blurry when you talk about EVs but protections should still be possible.

9·20 days agoMy car is from the 2010s.
I bought a GPS looking screen for $40 that has android auto and carplay. I already have Bluetooth added onto the radio for audio streaming.
Works perfectly for GPS off of my phone and as a media controller.
Only thing I’m missing is steering wheel controls.
Deadnaming is the act of calling a transgender or non-binary person by their birth name or other former forename (their ‘deadname’) after they have chosen a new name. Many transgender people change names as part of gender transition, and wish for their former name to be kept private.
I just learned about this phrase and had to wonder why it would continue all night. Then I realized the likely hostile holidays with family and my heart sank… I feel so sorry for you. I hope you have someone to lean on. I’d bite the head off of anyone who deadnamed maliciously.
Set it to startup only on April 1st
