Very burnt popcorn is such a horrific smell and it takes so long to go away.

This is around the tenth time I’ve seen this exact image at the top of the front page (sorted by hot) here on lemmy the past year. Most of those have been from accounts that are less than 2 days old. This really makes me feel uneasy and worried about the state of things here. It’s one of the big reasons I left reddit and it’s scary to see that it can happen over and over with a such a comparatively small percentage of users.

This is just me with salads, I fucking love salads.
I can’t afford having them with every meal so when I go several days without any I feel like shit and my body just screams “hey dipshit, where are the fucking fresh greens!?”

It’s not like they come with warranties or some magical immediate money back guarantee. And I doubt they wanted this to be a long term thing, they made their money already and anything happening post that has no effect on that. Money made, that’s it, the people can burn for all they care.

Stuff like that is pretty common in museum shops here in Sweden, and I’m sure many other countries too. It’s very overpriced though, but that’s expected for shops like that, and I think that’s fine as long as it helps the museum.

The actual annoying people are the ones who complain about (often imaginary) annoying vegans. Same with the anti-apple crowd, they’re 100 times more annoying than the people who they complain about. Same as people who call others snowflakes mostly being the actual snowflakes themselves.

Not rare with boomer LGBTQ+ people here in Sweden, I know several and had many around as neighbours etc. throughout my whole life. One of the people who checks your ID and stuff when you vote in my area is trans (mtf) and has been doing that for 30+ years and it’s nothing odd for the vast majority who meet her, I think she’s in her 80s now. Was always curious and liked her when I was a kid and went there with my parents. Still like her of course, and it’s always so nice to see her still doing that.

Looking at this and imagining that everyone there knows is just perfect. Trump is fighting his mind about not thinking about it and telling himself they actually like him, the rest are just laughing AT him and only picturing that thing.

There are several games who we’re just “this looks like reality” when they released who have aged well too. Half-life 2 (even without the updates) being the first one I think of, but I also think the first Far Cry and Crysis look amazing even now. Good design will age well no matter, the only thing that goes away is the immediate excitement of how impressively real it looks for the ones that went for that, but they still stir something inside people who experience them for the first time decades later.
