Simple answer is Yes. Complex answer is the ad companies that find value in it here in Canada, then whichever government wants your data will take it, and sell it to whatever ad company.

People should really get off of social media that is owned by companies outside of Canada. I prefer open source like Mastodon for the rare time I go on there and Lemmy for my Reddit replacement.

Carney needs to bring back the Digital Sales Tax, and write something into this deal. I like many of us here are doing are best to boycott US digital tech but lets push more people over the edge away from US digital services.

Why I am moving to Mastodon (sorta I don’t use it much), Lemmy (yes I know it is part of Mastodon), I want to move to peertube but that is a hard thing at least that is how I am finding it. My computers are raspberry pis so I do not use MacOS or Windows, sadly I still use an iPad and iPhone as I do not have the money to change them yet. I hide as much about myself from the ad market with piholes and single use email addresses with my own domain. I have a VPN back to my LAN so that when I am away I still get all the ad blocking. I realize that this is blocking the ad market and not the government, but I am going to make it as hard as possible for governments to check me and my internet habits out as hard as possible.

I want to serve jury duty, I could care less about the pay I would get, but I want the experience. February or March whenever the lock downs started in 2020 I got a letter saying I would get that experience, but the lock downs happened a few days later (or before don’t remember) the lock downs started. I don’t remember what happened but when I called to find out what was going to happen now I got some voice message saying COVID is F’ng up the system we will contact you later. I never got contacted again.

Some university, may have been at Western in London Ontario don’t remember where it was, ran tests on different AI models with both personal vandettas and national conflicts and most of the time they go nuclear, let it be go on a rampage with the person or drop actual nukes with the nation states.

There are ways to get AI to go around safe guards as well, like just a few minutes ago I was talking about Trump and his anilingus maggots in a chat room I could not remember how to spell anilingus so I asked Siri, which asked chatgpt who told me that it could not answer that question because of the guide lines rules it had to follow. So I just asked a different way and it was more than happy to tell me.
