I don’t think tolerance is a dichotomy. You can accept differences of others and “take the higher road” sometimes, but choose to fight in the mud others. And yes, for that example we’re going down in the filth where they belong.

Yes, that’s a valid point, and it seems we’re at that crossroads now.

What if it was the [border patrol] officers’ house that was on fire? Would they still arrest me or would they let me do my job?
Yes. Controlling other people is the highest priority. This would just be another example of that kind of person who would hurt themselves as long as someone they hate hurts too.
But you know, I disagree with the eye for an eye. We can be better than that, and fight for the rights and protection of even those who would spit on us. To quote Snuffles, “We are not them.”
There’s only one on there that I simply can’t do.
I can’t stand the sun for long.

This is a very optimistic view of things. If this is indeed the plan, it still hurt a lot of people for very little, and to bank the strategy on “we’ll be able to blame them if they betray us” is ignoring all the other times this has happened with no consequences to the Republicans. And most of that was before the era of Trump opening up the gates. The line used to be “they’re saying it out loud” in response to them not being subtle about their goals. Now they’re shouting it loudly, and nothing is being done. We’re far past “working across the aisle” mentality.
The box designer knew what they were doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if all the left and right profiles line up like that.
“If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all.”
The challenge is always to find that first shiny thing to lose focus on instead of…
Oh, there it is…

Boy, this whole shutdown and all it’s causing is doing the opposite of what the goal was - to forget about those Epstein files. There must REALLY be something they don’t want us to see. This makes the Streisand effect pale in comparison.

Getting them to all do it at once is the hard part. If only some do it, they sacrifice for little to no results. That’s why things are the way they are, to minimize organization and maximize the risk.
Keep in mind, it’s his words in his head. Of course he thinks HE is smart.

George Carlin said it, and it’s true. Rights don’t exist. We’ve gotten to the level where things that used to seem protected are now violated, and pointing to the laws that say they are rights doesn’t do anything. Once checks and balances disappeared, the ones in control could do whatever they want, especially when everyone else is still trying to use the rules that aren’t being acknowledged or enforced to “fight” back.
I wonder how the Republicans will vote. Hmmm.
What if Republicans were close to caving in due to all the pressure of things happening, and this loosened the noose? Should have held the line. We’ll just repeat this again in January, or worse.
Internal monologue: “I’m scared of them because they are cooler than me, and maybe even smarter.”

For 1), they use “small government” as a campaign slogan, but they are in it solely for power. Same with “state’s rights”, unless they can’t benefit from states having those rights.

Who has private jets? There’s the answer. If anyone is going to suffer, it will be the commons first.

These two? I don’t know, but I can’t help think they are both using the other. I was just talking in general, as there are a lot of mixed faith relationships out there somehow.
If these two had an honest established relationship and he suddenly started talking to the public about how she should convert (and she obviously hasn’t), that’s definitely a betrayal of trust. But look who we’re talking about…

How can it be a healthy relationship when either or both sides thinks the other is probably condemned to some eternal punishment and yet is okay with them not believing. At least if one is atheist they can realize it’s just a belief and nothing more, but still… that person thinks you’re doomed and yet is fine with it, or conversely is trying to convert you all the time, which is its own issue.
He wouldn’t make it past the first few minutes. Even if he has the capacity to get the points Feynman was making, he’d never sit and actually listen to try and understand something. Remember, he already knows everything. Except when he doesn’t, and because his ego is so massive, if he doesn’t understand something, clearly no one can. Or when he learns something, no one else knew it before.
