This about sums up the world right now.
Not sure if what I use is better, but I just use the optional cookie filter lists on Ublock Origin.
Water fountains are a throwback for me. I haven’t drank from one since highschool.
I’m struggling with the same type of thoughts and feel suicidal every day now. Every headline I read is another reason I dont want to live anymore. You’re not going crazy, the world is. I know it might seem counter productive to not stay in the loop of things, but I try to take a break from all social media and news every once in awhile to keep my sanity. I love lemmy and the progressive ideas that are shared on here on a daily basis, but the news you read can make you feel powerless and over these big societal issues that don’t have an immediate solution.
I really hope you feel better soon, your hearts in the right place. The fediverse is the only real place where I can reliably find empathic people looking out for one another. I wish I could have offered more sound advice as I can barely keep it together myself too, but make sure you have people you can talk about this in your life. Unfortunately I can’t afford meds or therapy so I’ve been depending on my friends and family to help keep me sane. Stay safe!
I imagine lots of people did this in GTA V lol
“Listen kid, I don’t have much time, the people on the Epstein list are–”
Idk why Netflix is still showing people ads then…

I can’t speak for other programs, but for example, Photoshop runs under wine mostly. The issue is certain features like the content aware tool are locked behind the stupid Adobe Creative Cloud BS and is reported to have issues depending on which version you’re using and what tools you care about. IIRC, it’s mostly the newer AI tools that are affected so maybe linux users won’t care as much, but its still a downside worth noting nonetheless.
Most of the time when Adobe products are mentioned in this context, people will instead offer alternatives rather than telling you to run it under wine. It really depends on what programs professionals are using at their jobs though, and I imagine most will just use Windows on a separate work computer and not deal with the random issues with compatibility and troubleshooting. I think most wouldn’t want to risk losing important work related projects either. If its something more simple like Microsoft Word then you could probably get away with using it on linux though.
