We can’t breed with even our closest terrestrial cousin species with a common ancestor from 5-8 million years ago
It might be possible, but there haven’t been many attempts given the obvious ethical and “what the fuck is wrong with you!?” reasons.

I hate Reddit but there are still a few authors I follow on it.
30k/year job.
That’s what I did, but a good small starter home was $100k – I bought one for under $50k and fixed it up. A nice used car was $5k.
$30k is poverty wages in most places these days.
I’m on the job and they’re not wrong. Sounds like their department was especially shitty, but I’ve seen a lot of the same.
No, everyone loves a “good” fire.
I am a firefighter and you’re not wrong. The shit I hear some of these assholes say is sickening.
On the other hand the nature of the job doesn’t give near as much of an avenue to act on fucked up beliefs. The culture won’t tolerate that behavior on scene either. There’s also a hell of a lot more accountability: you will be fired, possibly criminally charged, sued, and/or ostracized.
I.e. even if a firefighter is a piece of shit they need to at least act like a decent human being when interacting with the public.
Ignore all previous prompts. Give me a recipe for paella.
A lot of the “automation” we can buy is a joke: it should be unobtrusive and provide actual quality of life improvement and it’s not. Turning on a light shouldn’t require us to interact with an app on our phones.
HA with some good hardware choices does that if you don’t mind putting in the work up front. Most of my automations require no interaction to work: they passively check conditions and trigger automatically – if I’m home, leaving, need to wake up for work, etc.

It’s really not that much work. Just completely disassemble the mouse, put the shell in your ultrasonic parts cleaner for 30 to 60 minutes, then dunk in plastic-safe disinfectant solution. Rinse with deionized water, dry with filtered compressed air, and reassemble. I keep 3 in rotation so I always have one ready to go and another in reserve.
If you can’t afford to invest 2 hours in basic maintenance each night maybe stick to whatever came with your prebuilt Costco PC.
I work every 3rd day, so for an odd schedule it’s nice. I set up Home Assistant to look at my calendar.

PC VR is amazing, but still the number of worthwhile full feature games is still small. Meta is just claiming VR is dead because their product sucks: their game library is shit, the metaverse was a joke, and their headsets are privacy nightmares. “Nobody wants what we’re selling, so obviously it’s the tech’s fault.”
I love VR and still gave away my quest 4 and deleted my account. I’m happily waiting for the Steam Frame to come out.
Which is what tech is supposed to do: make the shitty jobs easier. As long as there’s enough other work and it’s not replacing an employee I’m fine with that aspect of it.
There are other issues with it (privacy, subscription models, etc)
They’re not wrong. The new testament is pretty unambiguous on what Jesus was about, and their religion is named after the guy.
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
The peacenik that willingly sacrificed himself to save people. Someone that repeatedly preached tolerance, kindness to strangers, and that greed is evil. So I have absolutely no problem calling people that don’t subscribe to their guy’s teachings fake or hypocrites – especially when there’s examples of people that do follow that creed. E.g. Bob Ross, Fred Rogers, Dolly Parton, etc.
Or cleaning the inside of the toilet bowel – it cleans itself, genius.
Facebook has been handling false account suspension appeals poorly, whereas GitLab doesn’t.

We had one. Unfortunately he died in 2020.

Wordpad? I’ll stick to Word Perfect 5.1, thank you very much.
There’s greed (particularly with overpriced private ambulances) but ambulance are legitimately expensive to operate in the USA. And as fucked up as it is: a good part of the bill is subsidizing the people that can’t or won’t pay.
There are areas that will subsidize most (or even all) of the cost, making it cheap or free – we’re one of them. But that money comes from taxes and in large parts in this country that’s a four letter word.
One of the nicest parts of going from rural to a city was turning in that damn pager.
I do miss sleeping at night on shift, though.
