I think we need a Zohran Mamdani level of rizz up here to make a meaningful come back.

That and put socialist objectives back into the NDP party constitution. Jack Layton, as much as everyone liked him, started this slide to center which Singh continued.

    This article lacks substance.

While the NDP may see more election success with a populist approach. Anyone making decisions based on how loud the crowd is yelling is doomed to long term failure.

Back in the 1970s, Lewis’s grandfather, David Lewis, then federal NDP leader, captured the popular imagination with a rip-roaring populist campaign against government giveaways to “corporate welfare bums.”

Avi takes after his grandfather, as well as his father, Stephen Lewis, one-time provincial NDP leader who was long the country’s most stirring orator.

    I don’t think this is a good thing and I don’t want to see anymore Mulroney’s, Trudeau’s, Kennedy’s, etc.

It’s come up a lot recently and people has never justified why it’s a good thing.

I’ve seen him and the other NDP candidates talk in their own words. Maybe I’m bias as a single issue voter but I think they should focus a lot more on Voting Reform and what it could do for this country.

I hate the conservatives and the liberals equally right now for many reasons. I actually voted for Carney for him NOT to make shit like Bill C-2 and other patriot act level shit (and against what? What is the fucking threat? Not the US. Carney is still trying to work with Trump). In addition to other stuff like gun bans that are costing the government a hell of a lot of money for no benefit (money that could go to better places than this shit… and Carney is cutting Healthcare spending, too.)

    It is a fucking shitshow.

Took a look at the highlights of his leap manifesto. Can’t say I fully agree with everything or that it’s all practical but this is the kind of direction I would like Canada to take. Encouraged to learn more.

Winning a mayoral race is not the same as firming a majority government.

He may be popular but it is going to be as the opposition. That is an important role though.

I’m waiting to see if the budget actually passes. If not, NDP is heading into an election without an official leader (although I think Don Davies has done serviceably well as interim leader, I don’t imagine he wants the gig full time).
