Blocks is a very odd word for something that was allowed and I’m sure will continue to be allowed to happen. Literally in the article Facepalm

Breyer put the ruling on hold until September 12. The Trump administration is likely to appeal.

Why does the US court system work like this? If a court has ruled this action illegal, why is the bad actor allowed to continue doing it pending a failed appeal? Why is it not the other way around and the illegal action has to immediately stop pending a successful appeal?

The US justice system is a complete joke, designed only to oppress the poor and minorities. The sooner Americans wake up, the better.

It is common practice for a judge to do, what isn’t normal is an immediate filing for temporary injunction until appeals are exhausted. Basically the judge is just saying I know you’re probably going to appeal so here’s time for that to happen before anything is applied and we have to reverse things which is more hassle and more time for chucklefuckery.
