This photo doesn’t really help and to be fair most of the pictures I found of him online are shot in such a way that he could look like a person of anglo-heritage with a heavy tan. Adding more stubble, a baseball cap, all black clothes, and sunglasses in 9/10 pictures can do that.

Mediterranean descent/red-ish skin is not classically thought of as white.
