If you’re sticking with google, a better way is to change your default search engine to https://www.google.com/search?q=%25s&udm=14 (at least on Firefox. May need to change %s to something else on a different browser). Loads up an entirely separate search page to the main one.
*FF doesn’t like it, but I can’t get Lemmy to leave out the erroneous 25 in the middle of %s, so make sure to edit that out. Sorry.
I’m guessing you put it in the search bar as is? You need to go into settings and add a custom search engine in the Search Shortcuts section. I also noticed FF doesn’t format the %25s like I thought it would, so make sure to edit it to just %s.
