what a fucking lemon that guy turned out to be huh
Brain damage is a hell of a drug
Fetterman was always a piece of shit.
Even outside of that, I saw people claim he was a shitbag before the stroke. I mean, I’m glad he caucuses with the Dems for the same reason I was happy Manchin did. One more on that side. But we all know how he’s voting, even if he is a tiny iota better than his competition was.
I hope his ass gets primaried.
He taught me to never believe in any politician ever.
I’m ashamed it took me this long to learn that.
i mean despite his shittiness, he still has to be better than “dr.” oz, right? sometimes, given two plausibly possible outcomes, it really is about the lesser evil
He also taught me to give up on democracy. I’ve had to vote for the asshole so goddamn many times, and still the worst ashole gets elected.
Why, because people can get brain damage…?
No because people are brain damaged
That’s a nonsense reply.
See? We’re born brain damaged
I learned the if you want something done get involved with the system. Voting for some dickwad won’t change anything. Do something for your community.
I learned that if you want change, you need to destroy the system that creates the problem.
I’ve gotten involved with the system. It sucks and is designed to prevent change.
If you want something done, do it yourself. And if you can’t get it done yourself it’s not happening so manage your expectations.
I’ve felt that way before many many years ago. I regretted the result then and now at the very least pick the lesser of 2 evils.
My view on election day critically evaluate who actually has a chance to win and vote for the best option. Outside of that donate to minority parties that support your views and if you’re lucky vote in primaries for the most progressive canidates.
Will it radically change anything who knows. I know when I was born gay people in this country couldn’t get married. Now they can. When I was born most women could get abortions, but now in many places a woman can’t get an abortion. I can see which of the two main parties set each of these in motion. And it is evidence that these parties can change things and there is a difference between the two.
I’m not in love with either, and view voting as damage control. Maybe a politician won’t do anything to make your life better, but they can certainly make it a whole hell of a lot worse.
I get that. I also get that if we’re constantly trying to control the damage the problems aren’t being fixed and we’re doomed no matter who we vote for.
Most politicians don’t immediately get personality altering brain damage. It’s a special case to some extent.
He wasn’t what most people wanted him to be in the first place, but not nearly as bad.
I guess any politician could have a similar problem, but I don’t think that’s one we need to plan for.
He had a reasonable voting record up until the stroke. He did well as Lt. Governor of PA although that office doesn’t do a ton. He did well as mayor of Braddock before that.
His own wife was an undocumented immigrant and now he’s supporting ICE. It’s wild what brain damage can do.
We need about 30 more of these for all the corporate Democrats who fly under the radar.
