As MAGA world rages about left-wing violence, the government appears to have removed a research paper showing contrary evidence.
It makes me so sad the all of our once great institutions are now completely goofy and corrupt. No one trusts any of them anymore, and that’s exactly by design. Russia really did win (for the time being).
I’m honestly not sure it’s a recoverable situation.
I, for one, simply don’t trust the reliability of any of our institutions considering how the regime is in the midst of demonstrating how unbelievably brittle they are, and simultaneously how feckless and spineless anyone in a position to say “fuck you, no” has been thus far.
I’m additionally unconvinced we’re going to have free and fair elections next year, or in three years - if they even hold them at all.
Once you lose hope for any change from peaceful resistance, that’s when it’s time to transfer over to more kinetic insurgency. It’s time to make American politicians and bureaucrats fear the people’s retribution again. If anything, I’d argue there isn’t nearly enough political violence from the left and that their peaceful complacency is what allowed fascism to flourish and gain power. It’s time to make bigots fear for their lives, IMO.
This is exactly what the Trump administration is desperately hoping the left will do. Quit fedposting.
Well, that, or emigrate and choose to contribute your skills and expertise to a country/region/polity that actually somewhat aligns with your values and ethics.
And to that end, I’m seriously considering figuring out how to move to the EU, and perhaps even getting back into the defense industry, because I see the possibility of an open conflict between the US regime and the EU (which I see as perhaps the last bastion of democratic-government, flawed as it is in many ways) as a disturbingly nonzero eventuality.
Not a career move I ever thought I’d reverse - NGC was interesting for a time when I was younger, but I pretty quickly decided that wasn’t where I wanted to pour my efforts. But priorities change, and exigencies develop.
Put another way: the regime has completely forgotten where a lot of the scientists and engineers who made the Manhattan project happen, and later enabled the space race, came from.
They want you to lose hope. Fuck them. The experts in all of these agencies are still just as good and non-partisan as before. It’s just that there are fewer of them overall, and the leaders of each agency, from Deputy Director and up, are foreign intelligence assets/corrupt/incompetent/immoral/all of the above.
I mean, Tulsi fucking Gabbard, the DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE, is a Russian asset. We’re done. That’s the worst possible situation for the US, other than maybe launching all the nukes off at once.
However, once we cut out all of the cancer we can rebuild and establish actual laws that prevent everything that happened from happening again, from the massive blue wave that’s coming. Even heavy red areas are yelling at their reps.
Fascism can’t sustain itself and always crumbles eventually. The short term strategy is harm reduction for vulnerable groups. The long term strategy is building up Democrats that have what it takes to take power and do what it takes to crush this movement.
