The police kill people in France too. For example, El Hacen Diarra died in a police station a few days ago.

disclaimer: this comment is wrong because i misread a table. it’s 33,5 kills per 10mio in the usa and 5 kills per 10mio in france

true, but not a good comparison, because i wasn’t talking about the police but ICE. if i was talking about the police however we we still talking about 1000 out of every million inhabitants in the usa killed by the police; in france, 37. yes: france has a problem with police brutality - but what does that say about the usa?

These numbers are easily found and already bad enough, why make absurd ones up instead? OP misread

There were 1200 police-involved deaths in the US last year, not 350,000. A huge number, 6x more than France would have had were the populations equivalent, but not anything like the population of an entire large city being gunned down yearly.

you are right, because i misread it and took the wrong column in a table. this was yearly not per million - it’s 33,5 per 10mio. in the usa against 5 per 10mio. in france.

thanks for pointing it out. i edited the comment
