Our intelligence agencies identified no imminent threat from Iran. There was no sign that the nation was close to developing a nuclear weapon. The White House still has on its website a statement regarding Trump’s 2025 bombing of Iran, carrying the headline: “Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News.”
He doesn’t seem to have much of a plan. He must be dying very fucking fast or something because it looks like he’s just trying to cement a legacy as quickly as possible before he pops his clogs.
The plan appears to be:
Rinse repeat until the country collapses. No attempt at stabilisation, no positioning of the opposition so they can take over, just bomb bomb bomb and we’ll think about what to do afterwards when Trump is dead and doesn’t have to think about it anymore.
The objective is to prevent the pro-democracy protest movement from gaining power, since they won’t be loyal stooges to oil companies or subservient to the Israelis. Instead, Netanyahu, Trump and their mob will try to install the son of the old puppet shah. He’s popular among Iranian expats in the US, but a lot of those were (or are descended from) former lackeys of the old shah.
