If you’re games focussed then by all means try mint, but Bazzite might be a simpler implementation. This might be useful as a intro reference point for your investigations: https://www.xda-developers.com/bazzite-has-me-reconsidering-windows/ I’m sure you could dual boot that as easily as mint.
