Lol jesus…I know the speech at Davos was kinda bullshit, and even it was not like…anti-imperialist, it was just honest about imperialism and our participation in it…

But FFS it was nice enough bullshit to pretend to care about for a few months, no??

Carney is a slave to money and does not give a fuck about Canadians. I deeply regret voting for him.

Carney is now making damn sure that Canada’s next PM is going to be Trump lite, so it is going to be a lot worse.

We did, and in a perfect world I’d love to vote NDP. Usually do when Trump Lite isn’t a possibility. But let’s be honest, Canada is a two party system. NDP haven’t had a snowball’s chance in hell since Layton. Bloc, Green, et al? Lol.

he won’t. The headline is bait and the article itself says that it’s all hypothetical, if it comes down to defending Canadians, they weren’t consulted, blah blah blah. can’t rule out anything if allies request aid.

Him willingly sending the military willy nilly would be political career suicide for him and the party and he knows it, he’s not stupid.

Such a tricky situation. The news sites love to bait those clicks, this is such an easy thing to hint at, but Carney can’t just outright say “no way are we getting Canada’s fingerprints on this train wreck” because the orange toddler would immediately tweet “one million percent tariffs!”

The article is more nuanced than the headline. And these statements mostly deal in hypotheticals and ambiguities.

he should know better then to be puttin these sorts of thoughts out there, if he’s feeling out the crowd to see if theyd be ok with helping im sure hes getting a solid no from the population. i myself cant think of a single reason to assist in this other then religous nuttery.

He didn’t need to rule out the possibility of ruling it out. I heard him on the radio. He said in a direct way that he would not want to see a ceasefire at this time. Of course it wouldn’t be possible to have one right now in any case. Along with all the other things he’s said it very much looks like he’s still entirely supportive of this unprovoked war of aggression but belatedly understands that admitting to this might be politically disadvantageous.
