Do you think congress may have forgotten how their job works? Like I remember learning the importance of congress in middle school. Power of purse and all that. Why is the congress petitioning the president for legislation? Can we please replace the congressmen who don’t understand what their job description is? Every day in the news its just “Legislator asking someone else to do their job” “Legislature confused on how laws are made” “legislator claiming the presidents office is just better at making laws”
I always wonder whether people who talk like this are employing ineffective rhetoric or if they genuinely believe Ted Cruz just doesn’t know Congress holds the power of the purse. He understands what his job description is. They all do. You’re the one playing the wrong game. They want authoritarianism, they want to concentrate power, they want to destroy democracy, they want you to suffer, they want people to die. This isn’t hyperbole, they’re just evil. Stop whitewashing what they believe and call them out for the demons they are. Ted Cruz wants the President to have unchecked power. He wants Trump to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from taxes without Congress. He wants it to be easier to do bad things and harder to do good things. We cannot afford to be this fucking smug about the people putting us in camps.
I’d argue calling them demons is employing rhetoric that is ineffective. It kinda shuts off the rational part of the listeners brain. I prefer to gentle steer towards acknowledging the straying away from normals. Which conservatism is still about preserving normals. I know what you’re saying is not hyperbole and I agree with you but probably not the best way to reach hearts and minds? I like to kinda sneak in unnoticed and then start manipulating peoples emotions subtly, but the whole yelling about demons thing is appealing to. It’s okay to have different approaches, we all want to see congress hung for their crimes <3
