He said that the current state is the worst possible. That means that, out of all the situations that could have occurred up to now, this one is the worst.
This is not an assessment of how bad the situation could eventually become.
If you want to be pedantic, at least be right about it.
Either it’s as bad as it can possibly be OR it’s goint to continue getting worse.

I respectfully disagree. This is clearly hyperbole. You know, exaggerating for dramatic effect.
Also, having someone that will continue to make things worse is why its as bad as it can be. The future is known.
