i expected bethesda graphics and gameplay, which were always meh after skyrim
what i didn’t expect was the pointless boring in fact fucking tedious everything else involved in playing a video game-- wtf is this fetch quest about talking trees? go talk to this guy, and then go talk to that guy, and then and then and then-- what a fucking let-down.
don’t worry i learned my lesson. i’ll never buy another bethesda title unless a year has passed and it still has a minimum ‘very positive’ rating. maybe not even then. fuck bethesda
Yes that is absolutely a valid way of approaching the problem although you do then sometimes run into the problem that the game you’re trying to play is no longer supported (service been shut down left and right).
I also think it’s a bit unnecessary, by all means play the classics if that’s what you’re into, but if you’re doing it to save money, it’s not as if there aren’t high quality indie games being made right now, so it’s not like you have to just play old games to be frugal.
i love indie games also-- in fact playing through hades 2 right now, which is hard to believe how awesome it is. other notable amazing titles include balatro, DRG (ROCK AND STONE), dead cells, delta V, dysmantle-- too many to name. so yea… i have no problem not buying a AAA game for $70+

Don’t worry, I know of good new indie games, and I’m not playing those either.
