Rumo is my favorite Zamonia novel, but the captain was my introduction to the series.
I must have read it 5/6 times, maybe that’s why rumo is now my favorite :)

Runo and the captain have audiobooks in German which i enjoyed quite a lot, I wonder how the translations hold up.
I’ve read all of them except City of Dreaming Books in English. Ruma is a very close second for me followed by the Alcamasters Apprentice. I wish I could speak/read German, there are a couple of titles of his that apparently won’t be translated for a reason I can’t remember.
Yeah he’s playing a lot with words that’s why I was so intrigued because I’ve thought about what a pain it would be to translate or rather how I would translate certain words.
There are a lot of neologisms in his books so I guess that’s an extra barrier for translations. Probably the books gotta make $$ for the translation to be worth the effort financially.
The city of dreaming books is good as well but does not hold up to the other two imho.
