This is super common in Utah as well. Illicit drugs/alcohol are bad, but a doctor prescribes opiates so that’s okay! Really hits women hard too since the only purpose you have is as a baby/homemaker, so getting high on prescription drugs is a fun hometime activity, just like it was back in the 50s!

I was a stay at home father for ten years and getting high was never something that I found atractive.

I read a lot, cooked extremely complex dishes, learned fermentation, bread making, several DIY, etc.

      Why drugs?

Dispose of you body as you choose. No concern there for me. Resort to drugs, that signals something is wrong. Met too many people that fell into drug abuse and the common denominator was always the same: their life was off. No friends, no family, no support, nothing and no one to rely onto. Drugs or alcohol are an easy way to dull the suffering.

Are we saying bored mothers are using drugs for fun or that they are miserable in their lives?

What are your intentions? Because that question is pretty open answered.
