When my mom was in memory care, she would often claim that she was a victim of theft and demand that the staff get to the bottom of the crime. My poor sister would end up having to go over and find the missing item in mom’s closet or shoved under the mattress or something.

I think paranoia about being a victim is part of dementia. Not too surprising.
