I take it they used the King James “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” translation, rather than the more-accurate “you will not carry the name of Yahweh your God for empty purposes”

…like for example, using Yahweh’s name in empty displays of faux piety while ignoring the poor and oppressed.
