The 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in China happened because the Chinese students tried to put the ideals they had been taught in school into effect. I assume it is not unusual for a movement to create the seed of a rebellion against itself, when it teaches ideals it does not follow.
Christians also get mad when they are asked to love their neighbor. Oddly it does mean that taking Christianity seriously can often mean leaving the faith.
Most Christian churches are founded on Peter and John more than Jesus anyways, don’t have to follow old testament law, praying in public, not giving away all your stuff and rejecting your family, etc
