You’re right, it doesn’t actually. I don’t disagree with that. But I have heard recruiters lying to children with some hideous lies that heavily imply that it’s baaaaasically a guarantee etc.
Every single word that comes out of a military recruiter’s mouth is a flat-out lie. Including “service guarantees citizenship”.

That’s from Starship Troopers, a movie that I did not watch until after I was out of the military. It’s one of my favorites.

I feel like it’s a your mileage my vary type of situation, as my recruiter didn’t lie to me.
