minus-squareSturgist@piefed.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up23·9 hours agoI’ve been wanting to switch out the buckwheat husk filling in my pillow. So I ordered £14 of the stuff…turns out that I now am in possession of enough buckwheat husk to be a heirloom for my descendants to last to the heat death of the universe…

minus-squarewonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·57 minutes agoIt’s common in traditional meditation cushions. It gives you a firm seat while still conforming nicely. There’s nothing else like it, honestly.
minus-squareSturgist@piefed.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up8·7 hours agoI really like it, stays cooler longer, is firm but also conforms to the shape of your head and neck a bit
minus-square[deleted]@piefed.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·3 hours agoWhat normal pillow filling texture would it compare to?
minus-squarewonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·58 minutes agoImagine the conformity of memory foam with the firmness of dry rice, and you’re in the ballpark. There’s not really a 1:1 comparison. It might sound weird but it is super comfortable. It needs to be pretty full though, if it’s under-stuffed then it just lacks the support.
