Or that he had someone who was in danger that made it personal for him. I may be an asshole, but curious if he would have done anything if his wife wasn’t in there
The idea that “operating outside the law” is inherently something bad is absolutely fucked mentality
if you pretend really hard and imagine there’s not governmental corruption, i think that’s where you end up at that mentality. at least that was what i was raised to believe, but we got exposed young to police corruption.
so if the enforcers of the law might be corrupt i thought, maybe the writers are too. so i did what i could to become a writer and get some of that sweet sweet corruption money, as police often have to work on their feet. turns out i was too menial a public servant to pay, dammit.
That said, having his fellow cops prevent him from saving his wife’s life might give him a better understanding of Punisher. I wonder how he feels about cops now
Yeah, like in this case where one side was a single child murdering asshole, and the other side was a small army of pussy cops who stood around and listened while he blasted a bunch of kids. A fucking little girl did more to resolve the situation than they did.
Of course there are. You don’t have to value both sides, nor are they automatically equal or even comparable.
In their own minds though, people who supported slavery weren’t all steepling their fingers and giggling to themselves about how they were going to cause generations of trauma. They had reasons, selfish and brutish as they were, and it’s useful to learn what those are so that we can prevent people from dehumanizing others like that ever again.
So many things could be avoided if people just remembered that there two sides to every story.

Stop letting “the law” be your barometer for what is or isn’t right or just. It doesn’t belong anywhere near the discussion.
