While the Trump administration's bid to overhaul mail-in voting remains blocked by the lower courts, North Carolina will be the first state to send ballots on Friday.
I don’t understand how it’s possible for counties to change their elections process for the Nov midterm. All the preparation for this election is already complete, and there’s not enough time to change it.
IIRC the states of Washington and Oregon only offer vote-by-mail ballots. This would disproportionately effect rural voters (who are disproportionately Republican voters). The counties in those states would struggle with the short amount of time and money to create polling places, communicate their locations to the voters, explain to voters a new process.
Even Trump sycophants would have to agree that it’s too late to change the 2026 vote-by-mail process.
In WA you can print your ballot at home by requesting a replacement ballot and you can drop off your ballot at a ballot box.
The USPS can be skipped entirely. I’m telling everyone I can about this and I will not be using the postal service this election the stakes are way too high to leave this to chance.

Visit VoteWA.gov ! You can also check your registration status, update your address, and see if your ballot has been received/accepted.
And if you are going to be out of town, you can also set up a temporary seasonal address so your ballot gets mailed to wherever you will be.
