    I understand many will find this a silly question but bear with me:

    Under what authority can Trump ban imports from Canada?

    I don’t think he has any statutory ability to just ban shit from Canada. I’m sure this will go through the courts and eventually be ruled illegal, like the tariffs were. It’s crazy that “President declares blatantly illegal thing but it’s defacto legal for 90 days” has become the norm.

        Actually, that’s even better. The original tariffs were done under a “national security” proviso. This would mean that Canadian beer is a threat to national security.

        You really couldn’t ask for better marketing.
