it only seems to be true on chinese social media – where ai is being used for the public good and you can see it in how much the public is embracing it as a result.
Is there no real anti AI movement in China? I wish I could know more about social media culture in China.

I don’t speak Chinese.
Neither do I and a lot of it is in English and even more in Spanish – especially rednote.
And there’s a noticeable amount of anti-AI sentiment in the English content but they’re easily drowned out by the overwhelming Chinese majority that speak English… Fyi
there is valid reasons to use generative AI. Making stupid, low effort, but high quality memes is absolutely one. I also enjoy the YT channel that cranks out AI generated videos of movie trailers. My favorite is still harry potter but in berlin. “One does not simply walk into the berghain” is just way too funny
