I’d say it’s actually more embarrassing than that.
2016 he was caught by surprise that black voters in the south preferred the centrist candidate.
2020 the same thing happened to him and he did absolutely nothing to shore up that weakness. He learned nothing. He even got lucky at the start with the field of centrists splitting the vote, but eventually they sorted their strategy out and beat him.
Bernie just has the worst goddamn campaign instincts. I remeber hearing his campaign staff were all people who got rejected from the Obama 08 campaign, and instances where his door to door knockers would try to argue with anyone who said they weren’t voting for Bernie.
Add in that he endorsed Graham Platner, it’s clear he just never had the juice.
Bernie is the prototypical idealist. He says the right things, but because of his inability to actually compromise he does nothing.
He’s been a meek politician at best, who says the right thing. The downvotes on here just prove my point. The truth is hard to look in the face. And the people who sat at home are just as fucking guilty as the people who voted for trump.
