This is my main problem with most of those rants in the Roiland seasons of Rick and Morty. I love the show and Rick being an asshole works so well for the character dynamic, but the show doesn’t really do it’s due diligence in framing Rick as an actual asshole when he goes on those rants. It’s a big reason why I think the latest season is so good. The writers seem comfortable in dipping back into that well without Roiland and the show does a great job of framing how poisonous and emotionally immature this kind of know-it-all attitude is.
